Where to Stay Tonight

Kotor Old Town or just outside the Sea Gate (Same as previous night)

Consistency allows you to pack lightly and maximize your time exploring rather than moving hotels.

Instead of returning directly to Kotor from Perast, ask a local boatman for a short trip to the nearby, smaller St. George Island (a natural islet with a Benedictine monastery). You can't land, but the view from the water is sublime and makes for a great photo.
Day 2 Budget: $75

Customize Your Trip

Budget Version

Skip the paid entry to St. Tryphon's Cathedral interior and the Cats Museum. Enjoy the free exterior. For lunch, grab a delicious and cheap burek from a bakery. Take the public bus from Kotor to Perast (much cheaper than a taxi-boat) and view the islets from the shore instead of taking a boat to them.

Luxury Upgrade

Book a private speedboat tour of the bay with champagne. Stay at the luxurious Forza Mare boutique hotel in Dobrota. Dine at the exclusive One&Only Portonovi resort's restaurants, a short drive away. Hire a private guide for a historical tour of the Old Town.

Family-Friendly

Scale back the wall climb—only go as high as the Church of Our Lady of Remedy for a great view without the full 1350-step commitment. The Cats Museum is a hit with kids. Spend more time at the marina feeding the fish and watching boats. The boat trip to the islet is engaging for all ages.
